A second-generation industrialist guiding a global Indian enterprise.
M.G.M. Anand Muthu is the Group Managing Director of the MGM Group of Companies, a diversified Indian conglomerate with interests spanning logistics, hospitality, distilleries, amusement parks and international hotel investments. He has held the office of Group MD since 2009.
A graduate of St. Mary's School and the University of Madras, he is a Founder Member and Secretary of the Southern Region of the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI), and Director of Magnum Global Pte. Ltd., Singapore, the international holding vehicle through which the group has expanded into the United Kingdom, Cuba, Kenya and Jamaica.
Carrying forward the principles set by his father, the late Dr. M.G. Muthu, he leads the group with an emphasis on quiet authority, long-horizon thinking and the five tenets of Truth, Hard Work, Simplicity, Honesty and Faith.

From Coolie to Conglomerate
The Story of Dr. M.G. Muthu
Dr. Manuel Gnana Muthu began his working life in the early 1950s as a headload worker, a coolie, at the Madras Port. With nothing but discipline, faith, and a refusal to compromise on truth, he built what would become one of South India's most respected family conglomerates.
In 1963 he founded the MGM Group. Over the next five decades the group grew into logistics, hospitality, distilleries and entertainment. In 1999 he authored Rags to Riches, distilling a lifetime of work into a single guiding text for the next generation. He passed away on 23 May 2018.
He left behind not just an enterprise but a code of five golden tenets that continue to govern every business decision the family makes today.
